A Winning Recipe: Chocolate and Beetroot Cake with Ginger

I am inordinately proud of winning the Fruit/Vegetable Cake category in today’s Southfields Harvest Festival. Thank you to judges John and Sue from Salt and Pepper (www.saltandpepperfoods.co.uk) and to Elizabeth for working so hard to organise a thoroughly fun day. The secrets of my success? 1. Leaving some  of the sugar out of the recipe 2. Using some very yummy Fairtrade 70% Dominican Republic chocolate that I found in the cupboard.
